The “Arkansas Artist 4”
We are four Arkansas artist friends who collaborate together to create, show and market our art. Each of us create both together and independently. We have our own art websites and online galleries where originals and prints of our art can be viewed and purchased.

Website: Art By Claudia Spainhour
Claudia retired about eight years ago and decided to pursue Art as a hobby at first. Claudia resides in White Hall, Arkansas with her husband, an avid fisherman and they have two grown children, three grandchildren, and three fur babies.
Claudia’s interests are spending time with family, art, traveling, and some camping trips we’ve thrown in for good measure.
Claudia at first tried to teach herself to paint from instruction books and videos before she retired, with some limited success but she wasn’t passionate about the process. She began studying for a time with a local artist during which she tried using charcoal, graphite, and acrylic and still works on a limited basis in those mediums.
Claudia had always admired the pastel works she saw in art magazines and in galleries and shows. So she bought some pastels and asked a friend who is a very accomplished pastelist to mentor her and “fell in love with pastels.” She loves the immediacy of pastels. With planning up front the painting progresses so fast amazes her.
Claudia has taken workshops with several Arkansas based artists in various subjects over the past years. and also attended a Christine Ivers workshop on city scenes at night. With those workshops and the help received from her mentor and other artists, Claudia feels she has really improved her work – considering she has worked in pastels almost exclusively for the past two years. She looks forward to attending a workshop soon by Richard McKinley
